We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Assistant to join our team at Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency. As a Sterile Processing Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain proper sterile technique and ensure the accurate handling and care of instruments.
- Proactively distribute all necessary equipment and instrumentation for surgeries and procedures.
- Collect and sort used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination.
- Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sterilization equipment.
- Maintain consistency and continuous workflow between operating rooms.
- Restock surgical inventory.
- High School degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of Central Supply, Sterile Processing, or veterinary experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
- Emotionally intelligent and able to work effectively in a team.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to communicate effectively.
- An initial 80-hours of PTO (increases with tenure).
