About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Assistant to join our team at Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency. As a Sterile Processing Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain proper sterile technique and ensure the accurate handling and care of instruments.
  • Proactively distribute all necessary equipment and instrumentation for surgeries and procedures.
  • Collect and sort used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination.
  • Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot sterilization equipment.
  • Maintain consistency and continuous workflow between operating rooms.
  • Restock surgical inventory.
Requirements
  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Central Supply, Sterile Processing, or veterinary experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
  • The ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted.
  • Emotionally intelligent and able to work effectively in a team.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to communicate effectively.
