We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Technician to join our team at Medstar. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and preserving surgical tissue specimens and cytopathology specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis.

• Preparation and Preservation: Prepare and preserve surgical tissue specimens and cytopathology specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis.
• Tissue Processing: Process tissue specimens through the laboratory, including embedding, sectioning, and staining.
• Logistics and Reporting: Log in specimens, prepare reports on procedures performed, and maintain logs and records.
• Quality Control: Perform quality control on a daily basis to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Assistance and Support: Assist with autopsy preparation, bone marrow procedures, and other tasks as needed.
• Inventory Management: Maintain chemical inventory and order supplies and reagents as needed.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, guests, and coworkers to provide excellent customer service.

• Education: Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Biological Sciences.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in histology techniques.
• Certifications: HTL - Histotechnologist certification preferred.
