Position Summary:
The Pediatric Registered Nurse for the Hematology/Oncology/Neurology unit at Duke University Hospital will be an integral part of our mission to advance health together. This unit, located in the Duke Central Tower, is a 20-bed pediatric intermediate care unit, focusing on delivering exceptional care to patients with hematology/oncology needs, as well as general pediatric and neurology cases.

Department Highlights:
- Transition to a new bed tower with spacious rooms and caregiver spaces.
- Opportunities for certification in chemotherapy administration.
- Participation in an interdisciplinary unit-based shared governance council.
- Expertise in pediatric subspecialties, including neurology, oncology, and endocrinology.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position requiring three 12-hour shifts, with rotating schedules of 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., or straight night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional nursing care in alignment with established medical and nursing plans.
- Provide nursing services to patients and families, adhering to the North Carolina Board of Nursing's scope of practice.
- Plan, implement, supervise, and document nursing care based on physician orders and established protocols.
- Utilize professional judgment to tailor care plans according to patient assessments.
- Delegate tasks and oversee the activities of both licensed and unlicensed personnel.
- Support the development of staff and learners through preceptorship.
