Job Overview

Position: Security Guard

The Security Guard plays a crucial role in supporting a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor, Human Learning Systems. This program is a federally funded residential training initiative aimed at educating and preparing youth aged 16-24 for successful careers in rapidly growing industries.

Key Responsibilities:

The Security Guard is tasked with ensuring the daily safety compliance of the center in accordance with Job Corps program standards, corporate policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The primary goal is to foster a secure environment for staff, students, and visitors.

  • Implement security policies, protocols, and procedures under the guidance of the Security/Safety Manager and Senior Security Officer.
  • Maintain the safety and security of students, staff, and facilities.
  • Conduct physical inspections and security assessments of the grounds and facility.
  • Report and respond to fires and other emergencies, assisting in fire suppression and resolution of adverse conditions.
  • Investigate incidents of center intrusion.
  • Manage disturbances and assist in de-escalating potentially volatile situations.
  • Uphold the rights of all individuals.
  • Accurately complete security logs, documents, and records in a timely manner.
  • Oversee visitor sign-in and sign-out procedures, performing safety checks of bags and belongings.
  • Adhere to established protocols for the entry and exit of staff, students, and visitors.
  • Conduct investigations and document findings accurately and promptly.
  • Operate Center vehicles as required.
  • Transport students as assigned.
  • Exhibit a helpful, responsible, and caring demeanor.
  • Facilitate the delivery of materials as directed and report vehicle maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures by staff, students, and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications:

  • Valid state driver's license.
