Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Mortgage Loan Officer is tasked with the origination, processing, and successful closing of mortgage loans. This role involves marketing the services of Central Bank and cultivating new business opportunities. The officer provides guidance to borrowers regarding their financial circumstances and available payment options.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluate the financial profiles, credit standings, and property assessments of applicants to ascertain the viability of loan approvals.
  • Gather and organize necessary documentation including credit histories and financial statements from loan applicants.
  • Engage with applicants to collect information for loan applications and clarify any inquiries regarding the process.
  • Inform clients about various loan types and credit alternatives, along with the associated terms.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with borrowers, real estate professionals, and other relevant contacts to build a robust referral network.
  • Examine loan agreements to confirm their completeness and adherence to established policies.
  • Authorize loans within designated limits and escalate applications exceeding those limits to management for further review.
  • Address customer grievances and implement suitable resolutions.
  • Stay informed about emerging loan products and financial services to effectively cater to customer needs.
  • Review and maintain updated credit and loan documentation.
  • Submit loan applications to credit analysts for validation and recommendations.
  • Calculate payment schedules for loans.
  • Assess potential loan markets and cultivate referral networks to identify prospective borrowers.
  • Collaborate with senior management to establish credit policies, lines, procedures, and standards.
  • Work with underwriters to resolve any issues related to mortgage applications.
  • Promote bank products to individuals and businesses, highlighting services that align with customer requirements.
  • Oversee the solicitation, negotiation, processing, servicing, and coordination of routine mortgage loans in compliance with bank policies.
  • Manage the mortgage loan pipeline to ensure timely closings.
  • Originate home equity and HELOC loans, alongside consumer lending options.
  • Cross-sell bank products and insurance referrals when appropriate to enhance customer benefits.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in similar roles is essential.
