We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Vallejo. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, protecting life and property, and providing exceptional service to our community.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public safety and order
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, including traffic incidents and crimes
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and testify in court as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to the public, including responding to complaints and concerns
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community groups to address public safety issues
- High school diploma or equivalent required; 60 semester units or equivalent from an accredited college or university highly desirable
- Currently employed as a peace officer in a California general law enforcement agency with one year of full-time experience, or having been so employed within the last two years
- Possession of a valid California P.O.S.T. Basic Certificate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound judgments, and communicate effectively with the public
Police Officers work in a variety of settings, including patrol cars, on foot, and in emergency situations. They may be exposed to physical danger, hazardous materials, and stressful situations. Police Officers must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of physical fitness.
