The Prisma Health Physician is a vital member of our team, responsible for delivering exceptional medical services to our patients. As a Family Medicine Physician, you will be at the forefront of providing comprehensive care, from routine check-ups to complex medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, prevent, or treat diseases, defects, or injuries, and recommend or prescribe treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects.
  • Rend medical treatment to patients consistent with generally accepted professional standards of care, without regard to their ability to pay or any personal characteristics.
  • Complete accurate, legible, and timely records of medical examinations and procedures, using Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes.
  • Provide after-hours call coverage, working collaboratively with other physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Comply with standards of accepted medical practice, managed care organizations, and other payors, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Enhance clinical skills through ongoing continuing medical education, meeting certification and state licensing board requirements.
  • Participate in non-revenue generating activities that advance the Vision and Mission of Prisma Health, such as serving on committees, community outreach, and teaching.
  • Contribute to the establishment of quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, patient education services, and patient satisfaction programs.
  • Assist in obtaining and maintaining licenses, permits, and other authorizations, as well as achieving applicable accreditation standards.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Successful completion of residency, board certification, or board eligibility, and medical staff privileges.
  • South Carolina Medical License, South Carolina Controlled Substance License, and Drug Enforcement Agency Number.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, mathematical skills, and specialty-specific skills.

Work Environment:

This is a non-management position that reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work shift is day, and the location is Oconee Medical Campus, with the facility being 2415 CFM-Oconee and the department being CFM-Oconee-Practice Operations.
