Job Summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Operations Manager to oversee daily operations, research, and maintenance activities within our Characterization and Advanced Post Irradiation Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing personnel, implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with governing regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the nuclear facility, ensuring safe and compliant completion of scheduled work activities.
  • Research and Development: Provide management and technical expertise to personnel conducting research and development activities within the facility.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair activities within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and governing regulations.
  • Training and Qualification: Work with training personnel to establish and manage necessary qualification programs to ensure proper training for facility tasks.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain facility configuration within authorized safety basis and ensure compliance with governing regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Relevant BS degree and 4 years relevant experience, or relevant Vocational certificate and 10 years relevant experience, or 12 years relevant nuclear experience or Nuclear Facility Supervisor qualification.
  • Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to manage personnel.
  • Certifications and Clearances: Must have or previously had Fissile Material Handler qualification and complete and maintain all certification requirements for nuclear area facility Shift Supervisors.
  • Clearance Requirements: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
