Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Prevention Specialist to join our team at Rosecrance Jackson Centers in Spencer, Iowa. As a key member of our prevention services team, you will play a vital role in promoting community health and well-being through the delivery of prevention strategies and services.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, human services, or a related field, and be certified as a Prevention Specialist (CPS) or be certified within 18 months of hire. You will be responsible for promoting destigmatization of substance use disorders, coordinating services with referral sources and other community resources, and providing direct service hours to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote destigmatization of substance use disorders
- Coordinate services with referral sources and other community resources
- Provide direct service hours to the community
- Complete and maintain confidential written reports within prescribed time frames
- Design prevention programs to meet the needs of the community and/or special interest groups
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in education, human services, or a related field
- Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) or be certified within 18 months of hire
- Prior experience facilitating groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Public speaking experience (preferred)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Valid driver's license
