JOB OVERVIEW:
The Finance & Investment Director plays a pivotal role in steering the financial strategies and investment initiatives of the department. This position requires collaboration across various functional areas and partnership with the Trust & Investment Commission to foster ongoing enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide expert advice to clients regarding capitalization aspects, including amounts, sources, and timing.
2. Analyze the financial and operational performance of companies in distress to identify potential solutions.
3. Work alongside investment bankers to secure new corporate clientele.
4. Conduct thorough financial analyses related to investments in sustainable construction and retrofitting projects.
5. Engage with clients to restructure or refinance existing debt and raise new capital.
6. Create detailed client presentations outlining investment plans.
7. Determine appropriate pricing for securities to be offered publicly.
8. Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships.
9. Utilize computer spreadsheets to create visual representations of technical reports.
10. Apply financial models to devise solutions for financial challenges and assess transaction impacts.
11. Evaluate and compare the quality of various securities within specific industries.
12. Assess clients' capital needs and market conditions to structure financial packages effectively.
13. Inform investment strategies by analyzing financial data to predict business and economic trends.
14. Interpret data on price, yield, stability, and investment risks to guide investment programs.
15. Monitor economic, industrial, and corporate developments through comprehensive analysis of financial publications and reports.
Qualifications:
- No convictions for felonies or misdemeanors involving dishonesty or breach of public trust.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
- Preferred experience in government finance and institutional portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with familiarity in relevant financial standards.
- Proficient in spreadsheet and database management.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
