Job Overview

This role involves working in a heavy manufacturing environment where you will be responsible for fabricating and constructing metal components and structures. You will be required to read and interpret engineering blueprints, set up metalwork machinery, and perform quality checks on finished products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering blueprints to determine fabrication requirements.
  • Set up and operate metalwork machinery, including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
  • Fabricate and construct metal components and structures according to specifications.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Conform to state and company safety regulations.
  • Operate company vehicles, including heavy-load transport vehicles, to travel locally, regionally, or nationally based on business needs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience in metal fabricating, required.
  • AWS certification and/or advanced welding experience, desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures, preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, required.
  • Proficiency with metal fabrication tools, including shears, rollers, flame cutters, and drill presses, required.
  • Advanced mathematical and engineering skills.
  • Own basic tools.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task, required.
  • Must possess good communication skills in being proactive, communicating status, ideas, troubleshooting tasks, required.
  • Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid state driver's license, required.
  • Must be DOT eligible, required.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
Work Environment

This position primarily works in a heavy manufacturing environment where the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including exposure to heat and cold both inside and outside of the building, and around loud noises, is required.

  • Remain on feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time.
  • Climb ladders and work in overhead areas.
  • Raise or lower objects up to 75lbs from one level to another.
  • Carry objects up to 50lbs.
