Position Summary
This role is with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The Compensation Analyst will engage in various business-oriented tasks to support the Compensation division within Corporate Human Resources. The Compensation team is tasked with crafting and delivering competitive salary structures and incentive programs that align with the Company's performance-driven compensation philosophy.
This position collaborates with various business units to ensure that compensation programs effectively support their goals, facilitating the attraction and retention of essential talent. Additionally, this role involves designing and implementing market-competitive total rewards strategies aimed at motivating and rewarding employees whose contributions are pivotal to the Company's success.
Reporting Structure
This position reports to the Manager of Employee Compensation and is designated as a remote role.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the design, execution, and management of non-bargaining compensation initiatives, policies, and guidelines, including the annual salary review and short-term incentive programs.
- Evaluating compensation surveys to identify trends and ensure competitive positioning in the external market while maintaining internal equity.
- Advising business unit leaders on compensation methodologies and practices.
- Providing project management and analytical support for significant compensation initiatives.
- Leading educational and communication efforts throughout the organization regarding compensation strategies and practices.
- Compiling and analyzing reports and statistics related to FirstEnergy's compensation programs and initiatives.
- Understanding and applying regulatory requirements associated with compensation, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Equal Pay Act (EPA).
- Staying informed about compensation trends and proposing process enhancements.
- Conducting detailed analyses to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Acting as a thought leader and mentor within the team, guiding less experienced employees.
- Recommending and implementing solutions for complex compensation challenges to foster positive organizational change.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, including Employee Compensation, Finance, Auditing, and analytical roles.
- Alternatively, a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) is essential.
- Experience with Oracle systems is preferred.
- Ability to analyze extensive data sets effectively.
- Capable of managing multiple assignments while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Skilled in developing innovative solutions to address challenges.
- Strong communication abilities are necessary.
- Adept at providing guidance to leadership in non-standard situations.
