About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Kohl's. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Perform daily inspections and repairs of conveyor systems and strappers
    • Routine maintenance and repair of air compressors, compactors, boilers, and cardboard conveyor
    • Regular maintenance and repair of housekeeping, power, and material handling equipment
    • Perform inspections and repairs of fire protection equipment
  • Facility Maintenance
    • Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting, and office furniture moves
    • Routine maintenance of heating and air conditioning units
    • Maintain lighting throughout the facility
    • Sort and load pallets, cardboard, aluminum, steel, and light bulbs for recycling
    • Set up and take down meeting rooms
    • Upkeep of yard area and fence repair
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Assist outside contractors with various duties
    • Promptly respond to maintenance-related issues
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment
  • Compliance with all MSDS standards and lockout/tag procedures
  • Ability to climb ladders and operate power equipment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must provide own basic set of tools
  • Ability to use cleaning and disinfecting solutions, oil, and equipment according to MSDS procedure
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Basic math and reading skills and legible handwriting
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Ability to perform tasks consistently and accurately
  • Regular attendance
Physical Demands
  • Physical activity may include standing and walking up to eight hours with scheduled breaks
  • Ability to work in a multi-level environment, including climbing stairs, bending, twisting, stepping, stooping, reaching, lifting, and pushing on a frequent basis
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis and 100 pounds on occasion with assistance
