Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our automation team, you will play a crucial role in providing technical repair and support to our production areas and equipment. Your strong background in automation and mechanical hands-on experience will enable you to design, program, assemble, install, and support automation projects throughout Berry Plastics Corporation.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with building and programming new and rebuilt equipment.
  • Follow mechanical and electrical prints to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to all company, industry, and regulatory procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Participate in post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and Department of Health requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in automation, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in PLC logic and programming, as well as development of HMIs.
  • Knowledge of AC drives setup and communication is a plus.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
Additional Skills
  • Robotic experience is a plus.
  • Vision system experience is a plus.
  • Pneumatics experience is a plus.
  • Servo experience is a plus.
