Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Patrols: Conduct regular security patrols of our facilities, including fixed posts and mobile patrols, to detect and prevent security breaches.
  • Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, including emergency situations, and provide assistance to employees, students, patients, and visitors as needed.
  • Investigations: Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities, and document findings.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with security personnel, employees, students, patients, and visitors to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments, including law enforcement and emergency services, to ensure a coordinated response to security incidents.
  • Training and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance security skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Prior security, police, or military experience preferred. Experience in campus/hospital security, law enforcement, or other related Criminal Justice agencies strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: Valid ACT 235 Certification required within 90 days of hire (PA only). Valid driver's License required to work at certain Jefferson locations.
  • Skills: Ability to understand all responsibilities and technology associated with the 24-hour Security Response Center (SRC). Ability to function effectively with Microsoft desktop applications (i.e. Word, E-mail). Ability to work all shifts, and rotate between shifts as needed.
