We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Nursery Stock Specialist at Altman Plants. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining high-quality nursery stock for shipping and resale to customers.
Key Responsibilities- Pot, prune, space, and irrigate plants to ensure optimal growth and condition
- Pack, label, and store plants according to variety
- Load and unload trucks and wagons with plant materials
- Perform tasks such as planting, transplanting, and propagating plants from cuttings
- Count and inventory plants to ensure accurate stock levels
- Fill, lift, and carry pots with soil and plants weighing up to 60 pounds
- Handle plants with care to minimize damage during transplanting
- Ability to work long periods of time and perform repetitive movements
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy pots and plant materials
- Excellent communication and comprehension skills to follow instructions and work effectively with supervisors
- Ability to operate agricultural equipment with or without direction
As a Nursery Stock Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced production environment with a focus on quality and efficiency. You will be expected to work effectively in a team setting and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
