Job Summary:

8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a dynamic organization that produces and sells quality products to retail, foodservice, and ingredient customers. We are seeking a skilled Extruder Operator to join our team on the 3rd shift.

About the Role:

As an Extruder Operator, you will be responsible for managing the extrusion/press operation process, including checking run schedules, maintaining mixers, and ensuring quality product is produced in a safe and efficient manner. You will also perform necessary quality checks, diagnose problems, and make adjustments to machines as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping machine areas clean and reporting any machine problems to the shift supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Manage all steps in the extrusion/press operation process
Perform necessary quality checks of product at all stages of drying
Monitor and manage the stick magazine process
Maintain flour silos and conveying pressures
Use computers and tools to take machine readings and record data
Report machine problems to the shift supervisor

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
Previous experience operating an extrusion or press machine
Previous experience working in manufacturing
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime

Physical Requirements:

Ability to bend, crouch, stoop, sit, and kneel for 4+ hours per shift
Ability to balance for 8+ hours per shift
Ability to stand or walk for up to 12 hours per shift
Ability to work at varying heights
Ability to climb/work off ladder, and reach above shoulders for 4+ hours per shift
Ability to work in a dusty environment, high heat, or humidity for 8+ hours per shift
Ability to perform simple grasping, push, pull, and feel for 4+ hours per shift
Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds for 4+ hours per shift
Ability to team or lift assistance to lift greater than 50 pounds for up to 4 hours per shift
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken or written word
Ability to make fine distinctions by sound
Ability to distinguish object or equipment visually
