We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team at the Eastern NC School for the Deaf. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing special education services to students identified as disabled in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement Individual Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities
- Provide direct special education instruction to identified students
- Employ a variety of teaching methods to meet student needs
- Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Communicate with parents and other stakeholders regarding student progress
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- NC DPI Teaching certification in Special Education or related area
- Experience working with students with severe and profound disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff
