NJDHS is seeking an experienced municipal attorney to provide legal services encompassing a wide range of municipal laws with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of local government processes and be able to build effective working relationships with all levels of staff, city officials, government agencies, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend city council meetings and other public meetings to provide legal guidance and support
  • Review and draft municipal ordinances and resolutions, economic development agreements, vendor contracts, and open records requests
  • Represent NJDHS in litigation and other legal matters
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal services

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing in the areas of municipal law
  • Ability to make clear and convincing oral and written presentations
