Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II

Job Summary
The Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer II is a key member of the Pediatric Cardiology team at MUSC, responsible for providing high-quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist. This role requires independent and efficient performance of clinical Pediatric Echo operations in the hospital and procedural setting, entering full preliminary reports, covering all MUSC Pediatric Echo Lab locations and shifts, including call rotation. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and complex congenital heart disease, pre and post-operatively.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist
- Perform clinical Pediatric Echo operations in the hospital and procedural setting
- Enter full preliminary reports
- Cover all MUSC Pediatric Echo Lab locations and shifts, including call rotation
- Organize and prioritize patient exams
- Contribute to unit teamwork
Requirements
- Graduation from a Cardiovascular / Ultrasound program or equivalent experience
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, PE), or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) certification in Pediatrics by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Two years minimum pediatric echocardiography work experience in performing M-Mode, 2-D, 3-D, Doppler, and color Doppler
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and complex congenital heart disease, pre and post-operatively

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing patient exams and contributing to unit teamwork. The role requires travel to outreach locations working with the Pediatric Cardiologist and support team.
