About the Role

Housing Families Inc is seeking a skilled Attorney to join our team in the Homelessness Prevention and Legal Services department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in providing legal assistance to low-income individuals and families, helping them to achieve housing stability and equity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a substantial client caseload, providing legal representation and support to individuals and families in need.
  • Stay current on laws and regulations applicable to the position, ensuring that our services are informed by the latest developments in the field.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources, providing referrals and support to clients as needed.
  • Participate in legal housing initiatives, including Lawyer for The Day and the Everett and Medford Legal Outreach Clinics.
  • Collaborate with other providers, including paralegals, student interns, and volunteers, to provide comprehensive support to clients.
  • Collect and enter client contact and information into files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctorate and admission to the Massachusetts Bar Association.
  • Working knowledge of the impact of trauma and homelessness is preferred.
