Clinical Collector

This position is responsible for the safe transportation of patients, specimens, supplies, medication, film, records, equipment, and miscellaneous items. The Clinical Collector will work with a wide variety of people, maintaining confidential information and communicating only the facts to recipients or declining to reveal information.
Key Responsibilities- Collects urinalysis samples per federal protocol, using universal precautions (gloves, etc).
- Packages samples for mailing via FedEx; calls Fed Ex to arrange for pickup.
- Recognizes a sample that is not acceptable for testing
- Refers to other staff or manual for correct collection and handling protocol
- Processes samples as directed by procedure or protocol
- Treats each patient with respect and dignity during the collection process
- Labels samples as per policy
- Verifies patient identity prior to collection a specimen
- Notifies appropriate chain when a sample is not obtained or not acceptable for testing
- Monitors supplies and notifies supervisor when supplies are getting low.
Maintains documentation in compliance with organizational standards, Federal Probation requirements, Mental Health Codes, and licensee requirements that is complete, accurate, and timely.
Requirements- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
- Must have control over personal use of all mood-altering chemicals and behaviors.
- If recovering from an addiction, must currently have a minimum of 2 years of uninterrupted recovery.

Comfortable within a Windows OS and learning new applications.
