Position Overview:

Genesis10 is seeking a skilled Cost Engineer to support our client in a hybrid remote capacity. This role involves providing technical and financial assessments to facilitate regulatory approval for electric and gas rate structures and tariff specifications.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Articulate Company proposals and the supporting analysis to internal teams, while offering tariff interpretations to regulatory staff, customers, and consultants.
  • Prepare documentation for tariff modifications outside of standard rate cases.
  • Guide technical teams and Customer Operations on new rate frameworks and their integration into billing systems.
  • Develop and refine methodologies for technical and cost analysis to bolster electric and gas rate design and tariff provisions.
  • Conduct economic modeling and analytical assessments.
  • Draft sections of rate-related testimonies and identify strategic development areas.
  • Respond to inquiries from interveners concerning rate filings or related issues.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mathematics, economics, or a related quantitative field is required. Candidates for the Staff Rates Analyst level should possess:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • A foundational understanding of the utility sector, economic analysis, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis and spreadsheet modeling.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.

For the Principal Staff Rates Analyst level, candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in utility cost service analysis or rate design.
  • A solid grasp of utility operations and familiarity with gas and electric tariffs.
