About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our Last Mile Safety Tech team at Amazon. As a key member of this team, you will have the opportunity to design and develop safety standards and features for Amazon's delivery drivers working on a full stack platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop safety standards and features for Amazon's delivery drivers
  • Participate in an agile development process to deliver high-quality software
  • Work across teams to prototype ideas and solve complex problems
  • Advocate and drive software best practices, automate tasks, and identify pitfalls
  • Contribute creative ideas and energy, working with world-class experts, and distributed cloud systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Server-side development experience, preferably in Java and/or Scala
  • Experience in AWS services (e.g. Lambda, CloudWatch, API Gateway, Dynamo DB)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Full-stack experience working on Java, Kotlin, Swift, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, React, and/or APIGW
  • Experience with big data processing and basic understanding of Applied Science
