As a CDL Driver Guide, you'll be responsible for providing safe and memorable transportation experiences for our guests while showcasing the beauty of Ketchikan, Alaska.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service while safely transporting passengers in a motorcoach.
- Deliver engaging narrated tours both within the vehicle and at various tour destinations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring smooth transitions between cruise ships and tour vehicles.
- Manage passenger tickets and itineraries, providing clear information about tour schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, driving routes, mileage, fuel consumption, and hours worked.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain a clean and presentable motorcoach at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dock staff, cruise line partners, and tour venue representatives.
- Report any accidents, injuries, unsafe working conditions, or damages promptly.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the surrounding area and navigate efficiently to various destinations.
- Adhere to all state traffic laws and ensure all necessary driving documents are current and readily accessible.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in customer service or tourism is highly desirable.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record from the state of your current driver's license for the past three years.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and participate in a monthly Random Consortium program.
- Minimum age of 21 years old.
- Ability to regularly lift objects weighing between 5 and 100 pounds.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent personal hygiene and professional appearance.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English.
