Detailed Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Aftercare Bus Aide to oversee the safe transportation of children during aftercare hours. This role includes general supervision during bus pick-up and drop-off, as well as maintaining cleanliness and order during the After Care program. The primary focus is to ensure the safety and well-being of members while they are being transported to the club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow safety protocols when loading and unloading children.
  • Assist the bus driver in managing student behavior on the bus.
  • Retrieve and return lost personal items to the designated area.
  • Exemplify positive behavior for members, including punctuality and cleanliness.
  • Communicate effectively with fellow staff to ensure smooth operations during pick-up.
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as bus seats, handrails, and other communal areas.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling efforts.
  • Collaborate effectively with other Youth Development Professionals.

Qualifications

  • Commitment to work throughout the school year with minimal interruptions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an active environment that may require physical exertion.
  • Experience in youth programs, recreation, or related fields is preferred.
  • First Aid, AED, and BLS/CPR certifications are advantageous.

All staff members must be vaccinated in accordance with state requirements. While masks are encouraged, they are not mandatory.
