Position Overview:
SSM Health Dean Medical Group is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider specializing in Adult Neurology. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in neurology, looking to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Features of the Role:
- Primarily outpatient responsibilities with a standard Monday to Friday schedule.
- No on-call duties or weekend shifts required.
- Opportunities for community outreach and engagement.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin nursing license and advanced practice nurse prescriber license or be a licensed physician assistant in Wisconsin.
- Previous experience in neurology as an advanced practitioner is highly desirable.
- Current BLS certification is mandatory.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history and physical examinations, ensuring accurate documentation for the supervising physician.
- Execute routine diagnostic procedures relevant to the practice setting.
- Administer therapeutic interventions, such as injections and wound care, while providing patient education on health management.
- Collaborate with physicians during hospital rounds, documenting patient progress and facilitating care transitions.
- Adhere to clinical guidelines and hospital policies to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of treatment plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Issue prescriptions under physician supervision, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
- Engage in continuous professional development and training to enhance clinical skills.
Educational Background:
- Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of healthcare experience is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent communication and interaction with patients and staff.
- Regular physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring visual acuity and manual dexterity.
