We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Advocates. As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance duties for our agency-owned real estate.
Key Responsibilities- Perform repairs and maintenance duties for all agency sites as assigned.
- Perform walk-thru and repairs, as well as attend various inspections as needed for the agency's sites.
- Maintain company-assigned vehicle and ensure routine maintenance is scheduled as needed.
- Follow all work order procedures, including accessing work orders through a database and updating work orders upon completion.
- Responsible for purchasing necessary supplies and materials for repairs as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining proper upkeep of company tools and equipment.
- Attend and actively participate in supervision and team meetings.
- Ensure that clients are treated with dignity and respect in accordance with Advocates' Human Rights policy.
- Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures.
- High School Diploma or GED required and minimum of 1 year experience in maintenance and general repairs.
- Must possess ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must be able to perform with minimal supervision.
- Must possess ability to use office equipment such as a scanner, digital camera, copier, printer, fax, and phone systems.
- Must have strong computer skills.
- Must possess ability to read a map and be willing to travel.
- Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must possess ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must possess ability to read and speak English and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must hold a valid driver's license. Must have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it if needed.
