Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at VetJobs. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless operation of our facilities and equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 6+ years of experience in maintenance and repair, preferably in a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment.
  • EPA 40CFR Part 82, Subpart F, Section 608 Licensed Refrigeration Technician (Type Universal) certification required.
  • Licensed Boiler Repairman from the State of Michigan (Class III or higher) certification required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in basic mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation skills and problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of industry practices and standards.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Knowledge of the general trades, including construction, electrical, and machine shop.
  • Well-developed time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic.
Work Environment

This position is located in a penicillin facility and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels.

The successful candidate will be required to work at heights on ladders and lift up to 40 pounds.

This position may require non-routine, off-shift work and may include qualifying to work in an on-call rotation.

The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers to manipulate or assemble objects is required.

The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects is also required.

The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without giving out or fatiguing is necessary.

This position requires the ability to perform mathematical calculations and to read and understand drawings/blueprints and P&IDs.

The successful candidate will be required to complete sterile garb training and work aseptically in manufacturing areas.

This is a 1st shift position with core hours from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm (Monday through Friday) with overtime required as needed.
