Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Underwriter to join our team at Tri Counties Bank. As a Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for analyzing financial information, recommending loan actions, and approving loan requests within your authority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze commercial loan applications to determine creditworthiness and recommend loan actions.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to determine client needs and discuss options for borrowers.
  • Request additional information needed to complete processing and attend client meetings to provide credit expertise.
  • Approve or decline commercial loan requests within assigned limits.
  • Recommend credit approval requirements, including financial performance covenants, monitoring requirements, and other loan provisions.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting, or related work experience preferred.
  • Three years' experience in a small business/commercial lending environment.
  • Established knowledge of financial accounting theory and logic, loan structuring, commercial products, and services.
  • Proven ability to interpret and discuss analytical data and make credit recommendations to Senior Management and/or Risk Management.
Level Distinction

Commercial Underwriter II: Five years of proven experience in a small business/commercial lending environment. Must have substantial experience in small business/commercial lending and credit analysis.

Commercial Underwriter III: Demonstrated ability to interpret and underwrite the most complex commercial credits in the Bank with minimal guidance or oversight, seven years of experience.
