Overview

The Janitorial Associate plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and order within an industrial laundry environment. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of items entering and exiting the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for emptying waste receptacles in assigned locations, cleaning tunnel screens, and dismantling boxes.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning, sweeping, and mopping in restrooms and designated areas as required.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as wiping down fans, walls, lights, and equipment, and replacing floor mats when necessary.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of the break area and lunchroom, and transport empty barrels from the soil dock to the loading dock.
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to best practices in all operational activities.
  • Adapt to a flexible work schedule based on the demands of the Market Center.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess the ability to comprehend all necessary training, as well as written and verbal instructions. A basic understanding of mathematics is beneficial, along with effective communication skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team is essential. Attendance and punctuality are critical, as the role requires adherence to a shift schedule, which may include weekends and overtime as needed.

Working Conditions:

This position is performed in a warehouse setting, where employees may encounter varying weather conditions, extreme temperatures, dust, and noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The role requires physical capabilities, including moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 25 lbs, as well as bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
