Overview

NV5 is a leading provider of geospatial solutions, seeking a highly skilled and motivated Spatial Data Analyst to join our Northern California team. As a Survey CAD Professional, you will play a crucial role in the preparation, analysis, and interpretation of survey data for various projects.

In this position, you'll be responsible for creating precise and detailed survey drawings, assisting in project documentation, and providing critical technical support for infrastructure projects. You will work directly under experienced survey professionals, gaining valuable hands-on experience that enhances your technical skills and industry knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Survey Drawing Preparation: Prepare topographic and boundary survey drawings, Record of Survey maps, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, utility and right-of-way mapping, parcel and subdivision maps, and legal exhibits.
  • Document Interpretation: Assist in writing and interpreting legal descriptions, survey maps, easements, and right-of-way documents. Aid in drafting precise layout of property boundaries based on legal descriptions.
  • Data Research and Analysis: Research, compile, and analyze historical data, including Records of Survey, plats, government land office documents, right-of-way maps, and utility sketches.
  • Field Support: Provide critical support to field surveyors by processing field data, generating search coordinates for field crews, and working with data such as field notes, photogrammetric data, grid coordinates, and survey points.
  • 3D Modeling: Use Civil 3D to create accurate 3D models, manage terrain data, and support High Definition Scanning (HDS) processes for project mapping.
  • Mathematical Computations: Perform mathematical computations for property and easement layouts, proposed construction, traverse closures, and other survey tasks related to engineering and construction projects.
