SUMMARY:
The role involves the facilitation, setup, assembly, calibration, testing, and disassembly of plasma processing machinery while meticulously documenting outcomes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manufacturing Technician II is expected to execute all responsibilities of a Manufacturing Technician I, while also undertaking additional tasks across a comprehensive array of products and equipment, including prototype systems. This position operates with minimal supervision.
- Facilitates equipment installation by applying water, electrical power, and leveling machinery in temporary setups.
- Positions and assembles intricate electro/mechanical components and assemblies according to blueprints, schematics, and/or established procedures utilizing hand tools.
- Conducts complex mechanical alignments and calibrations of equipment to meet the quality standards outlined in the Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) and other relevant testing protocols.
- Performs leak detection on vacuum and mechanical assemblies using specialized leak detection systems.
- Troubleshoots equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and vacuum systems, to enable power-up and data collection. Accurately records and reports test results.
- Develops and refines testing procedures for other technicians to adhere to.
- May offer guidance and training to junior technicians.
- Ensures compliance with Class 10,000 to 100 cleanroom standards.
- Prepares systems for shipment, which includes cleaning, disassembly, and coordination with shipping logistics.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- It is essential for every employee to be knowledgeable of and comply with the relevant Safety & Health, Quality & Environmental Processes of Plasma-Therm.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- An Associate's Degree from a two-year college or technical institution, or equivalent military training.
- A minimum of two years of directly related experience as a test technician is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, drawings, schematics, technical procedures, and other relevant documentation.
- Capable of reading, interpreting, and adhering to safety regulations, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Skilled in operating impedance meters and other specialized electronic testing equipment.
- Able to apply fundamental mathematical skills to resolve technical challenges.
- Proficient in the use of crimpers, torque wrenches, vacuum leak detectors, soldering irons, and other assembly/testing hand tools.
- Familiar with Windows office applications.
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The typical work environment is representative of a manufacturing cleanroom facility and associated areas such as stockrooms, machine shops, and laboratories.
- The incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, touch, see, and hear, and may need to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- While fulfilling the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and potentially harmful chemicals. The ability to wear safety equipment and adhere to safety protocols is essential.
