Walpole Outdoors is currently seeking a full-time Senior Accountant. This pivotal role directly impacts the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities


The Senior Accountant will oversee the verification and reconciliation of cash, manage payroll processing, conduct monthly reconciliations, and maintain the chart of accounts.

This position operates under the guidance of the Controller and provides assistance as required.

Primary Duties

  • Prepare and document monthly general ledger entries.
  • Compile daily and monthly financial reports.
  • Engage in monthly accounting, banking, and tax audits.
  • Record Fixed Assets Acquisitions and Dispositions in the General Ledger and Fixed Assets software.
  • Offer advanced research and problem-solving support to the Chief Financial Officer and Controller.
  • Prepare and submit monthly multi-state sales tax filings.
  • Generate daily cash reports detailing all incoming funds and manage daily transfers, including relevant GL entries for fund movements.
  • Assist with processing incoming orders and auditing for any discrepancies.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and post necessary reclassifying entries at month-end.
  • Process weekly payroll entries to the General Ledger.
  • Document month-end accruals related to payroll.

Cash Application Duties:

  • Apply payments within the accounts receivable system.
  • Reconcile control sheets with the accounts receivable system.
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed.
  • Reconcile cash on a daily and monthly basis.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the accounting sector.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of US tax regulations.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Sage, and Power BI.
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
