Job Summary:
APN Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). As a CVICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular conditions, including those undergoing open-heart surgery and post-surgical heart transplants.
- Assist with the care of patients during bronchoscopies, intubations, tracheostomies, central line insertions, arterial line and Swan Ganz catheter line insertions.
- Utilize manual thermodilution syringe to calculate Cardiac Index and have experience with epicardial and transvenous pacing wires.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and report patient condition to the Charge Nurse and other members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in CVICU, not including traveling.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Ability to work a 4x12-hour night shift schedule.
- Flexibility to work overtime and float to other units as needed.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
