Key Responsibilities:
- Implementing care plans, including administering medications, collecting specimens, and providing clinical treatments.
- Documenting all patient care activities.
- Monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions to the care team, physicians, patients, and families as necessary.
- Assisting patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, and mobility.
- Collaborating across disciplines to ensure coordinated patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
- Assessing the educational needs of patients and/or families and providing tailored education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Advocating for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
Required Skills:
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently are essential. Candidates must be capable of functioning in a high-pressure environment and responding appropriately.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and PALS/ENPC certifications must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer into the position. Newly graduated RNs are subject to the same requirements.
New hires will have a ninety (90) day period from their hire date to obtain American Heart Association certifications. However, employees must remain current in all existing certifications required for their position as outlined in the job description.
Licenses:
A current NM RN license or appropriate RN compact licensure is required.
