Job Summary

This position provides technical support to the surgical team, ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. The Surgical Technologist Specialist is responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting the surgical team as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain aseptic technique during procedures, ensuring the sterility of the surgical field.
  • Assist the surgical team as needed, including passing instruments and supplies.
  • Care for equipment and supplies after procedures, ensuring they are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient room turnover and optimal patient care.
Requirements
  • Minimum one year of experience as an O.R. Technician.
  • Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association standards.
  • Certification of surgical technologists preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to surgical procedures and equipment. The Surgical Technologist Specialist must be able to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed, and must be able to work effectively in a team environment.

This position serves a patient population of Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric. The incumbent must provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of neonatal, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.
