  • Continuously monitors patients in the surgical environment to maintain stability and prevent any potential harm.
  • Documents all anesthetic procedures in the anesthesia record to maintain a comprehensive account for patient care, educational purposes, and legal documentation.
  • Offers clinical mentorship to nurse anesthesia students and other medical trainees to enhance their practical skills.
  • Responds effectively to critical situations as they arise.
  • Oversees Human Resources functions within the department, including recruitment, onboarding, training, professional growth, performance reviews, and compensation planning.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Current certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and other relevant certifications as required.
  • Preferred experience of at least 6 months in administering anesthesia to pediatric patients.
  • Proficiency in pediatric airway management and vascular access techniques.
  • Experience in critical care settings, particularly with pediatric or neonatal patients.
  • Knowledge of EKG, arterial, central venous, and pulmonary artery pressure monitoring techniques.
  • Expertise in respiratory care and blood gas analysis.
