**About the Job:**
* Supervise and coordinate the work activities of professional and technical staff in the Med Surg department
* Organize and coordinate activities, assign responsibilities, and provide direction and motivation to assigned personnel
* Monitor and evaluate systems and processes, initiating changes and improvements as needed
* Ensure quality assurance standards are followed
* Collaborate with administration, medical staff, employees, and other departments to coordinate efforts and meet special needs
* Establish quality improvement, fiscal productivity, and patient satisfaction goals and objectives in conjunction with upper management
* Demonstrate technical competency in gathering and communicating objective data such as EKG interpretation, advanced assessment, and medication administration
* Conduct nurse leader rounds daily and physician rounds as needed
* Act as a clinical resource person to staff to complete tasks assigned timely
* Function as a direct caregiver with patient assignment as needed
* Demonstrate ability to function as a department director in their absence
* Demonstrate ability to function as a house supervisor as needed
**Requirements:**
* FL RN License
* BLS and ACLS Certifications
* Minimum Two (2) years' experience in an acute care setting
