Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team at the Council Bluffs Community School District. As a Paraeducator for Young Learners, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal growth of our preschool students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and providing support to students with special needs.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support and small group instruction to students, as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices and strategies for supporting students with special needs.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or 48 credit hours of college coursework.
  • Para Certificate or National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC).
  • Ability to become CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Experience working with young people in an educational setting, preferred.
