Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Medicare Skilled Home Care Intake Specialist to join our team at our Livonia, Michigan location. This is a full-time, hourly position in the healthcare/medical field. As an Individual Contributor, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the intake process for Medicare skilled home care services.

Salary Range

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $35,000 and $44,000, depending on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.

Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate the intake process for Medicare skilled home care services by working closely with patients, families, and healthcare providers
  2. Gather and review necessary documentation to determine eligibility and medical necessity for skilled home care services
  3. Communicate with insurance companies and other third-party payors to obtain authorization for services
  4. Coordinate with our clinical team to develop and implement customized care plans for each patient
  5. Educate patients and families about Medicare coverage and our services
  6. Ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  7. Maintain accurate and organized electronic records of all intake activities

Requirements

  1. High school diploma or equivalent, some college coursework in healthcare or related field preferred
  2. At least 1 year of experience in healthcare intake or related role, specifically with Medicare and/or Medicaid
  3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  5. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems
  7. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations and guidelines
