KIPP Public Schools Northern California Paraeducator

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraeducator to join our team at KIPP Public Schools Northern California. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and behavioral needs of our students in a middle school setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist students in small groups or one-to-one assignments to reinforce or follow up learning activities in core academic, language, and/or specialized subject areas.
- Implement behavior intervention plans, utilizing approved positive reinforcement strategies, behavior modification, and other skills to establish and maintain appropriate behaviors.
- Facilitate social interactions and foster positive relationships between students with disabilities and their non-disabled peers.
- Model appropriate behavior and attitudes, providing emotional support and general guidance to students.
- Support students in accessing all aspects of the educational environment, including field trips and school assemblies.
- Provide testing accommodations, supervising students during extended testing periods.
- Maintain accurate data trackers, student progress records, and provide regular updates to the Education Specialist.
- Establish and maintain a clean, safe, and cooperative classroom and learning environment.
- Assist physically disabled students with personal hygiene and grooming functions.
- Report suspected health problems to school personnel and maintain confidentiality of student records.
- High school diploma or equivalent, and an A.A. degree or B.A. degree (or minimum 48 units in process) or pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment (passing score = 460).
- Commitment to KIPP's mission and vision, being an anti-racist educator, and believing all students can achieve at the highest academic levels.
- Strong content area knowledge, skills in building relationships with students, families, and communities, and proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications.
- Ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning.
This is a full-time, 40 hour a week, non-exempt position based on a school year calendar cycle and time off policy, located at our school sites.
