About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Care Assistant to join our Dermatology team at Cleveland Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain vital signs, height, and weight as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Collect patient specimens and prepare them for transport to laboratories.
  • Prepare patients for exams, tests, and special procedures, and assist with exams and treatments as needed.
  • Perform patient treatments as directed, including the application of heat or cold, simple sterile dressing changes, and removal of casts, braces, and splints.
  • Stock supplies and linens as applicable, and maintain designated work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to promote patient care and department functioning.
  • Participate in department meetings and perform duties in an independent and assertive manner under the direction of an RN or MD.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Understanding of human anatomy sufficient to perform job duties.
  • Basic knowledge of patient care activities.
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required within new hire period.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum two years recent patient care experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting.
  • Proficient in the use of an electronic medical record.
Work Environment

This role requires good interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients, and family members. Strong organizational skills are necessary to set priorities, organize work activities, and complete assigned work. The ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action is also required.
