Job Summary:

We are seeking a postdoctoral appointee with a strong background in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or chemical engineering. The successful candidate will have experience in modeling and simulation of complex systems, including multiphase flows, heat transfer, and external aerodynamics. Additionally, the candidate should have expertise in reduced-complexity modeling, dynamical systems modeling, and large scientific code management.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement reduced-order models for fluid dynamical systems
  • Collaborate with the team to design and conduct experiments and simulations
  • Develop and maintain high-performance computing codes for multiphysics simulations
  • Present and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or chemical engineering
  • Experience in modeling and simulation of complex systems
  • Expertise in reduced-complexity modeling, dynamical systems modeling, and large scientific code management
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaborative research
  • Knowledge of machine learning for multi-fidelity modeling and regression tasks
  • Experience in geometry optimization with computer-aided design software
