Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs.
  • Facilitate adjustment to healthcare experiences for patients and their families.
  • Provide coping support for patients and families when faced with trauma or grief.
  • Delegating work assignments to volunteers and participating in clinical training of student interns.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field.
  • 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist.
  • General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced-based knowledge.
  • Well-developed writing skills and excellent communication skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire.
