Role Responsibilities

As a Speech Language Pathologist, your role will involve evaluating, planning, and implementing speech therapy interventions for clients in their homes or educational settings. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and adjusting patient visit schedules to optimize productivity and meet patient needs.
  • Conducting thorough assessments of patients, including psychosocial and safety evaluations.
  • Creating individualized care plans aimed at enhancing functional independence and safety.
  • Delivering skilled speech-language therapy, including therapeutic techniques and caregiver education, while monitoring patient progress.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Completing necessary documentation for school-based services, including evaluations and Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).
  • Assessing the need for additional services and coordinating care plans with patients and caregivers.
  • Facilitating safe patient discharges and transfers, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed.
  • Providing home care services as required.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is mandatory.
  • Current state licensure in Vermont as a Speech Language Pathologist is required.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in Speech Language Pathology is essential.
  • Active participation in a clinical fellowship year or possession of a certificate of clinical competency is necessary.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
