Senior Financial Director

The Senior Financial Director will oversee all financial aspects of Project Kinship, providing strategic leadership and guidance to ensure financial health and compliance. This includes strategic financial planning, management of financial risks, financial record-keeping, statistical reports for management and/or Board, audit activities, and financial reporting.
This role requires a deep understanding of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and experience in non-profit organizations. They will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's goals, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
The successful candidate will be able to lead the finance department, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence. They will communicate financial insights and recommendations to the executive team, the board, and stakeholders. The position also requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support company goals.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to guide decision-making and investment opportunities.
- Lead the finance department, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
- Communicate financial insights and recommendations to the executive team, the board, and stakeholders.
- Oversee general and grant accounting, reconciliation, regulatory reporting, tax, and financial reporting functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Master's degree in Accounting or CPA is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of previous hands-on accounting, financial reporting, and analysis experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of working at a non-profit organization.
- 5-10 years of progressive management experience in finance or accounting, ideally within a nonprofit of similar size and structure.
- Relevant understanding and experience with US GAAP.
- Current or recent non-profit experience.

Salary and Location
This is a full-time position with an estimated salary range of $145,000 - $190,000 per year. The job location is in Santa Ana, CA 92706, and relocation is required before starting work.
