Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our team at Families First Pediatrics. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our orthodontic practice, providing exceptional patient care, and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist orthodontists during patient appointments, maintaining a high level of efficiency and organization.
  • Prepare treatment areas, arrange instruments, and ensure all necessary materials are available for orthodontic procedures.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and care of orthodontic appliances, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
  • Take and record patient histories, X-rays, and impressions, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Implement and maintain sterilization and infection control protocols, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
  • Assist in the placement and removal of braces, wires, and other orthodontic appliances, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Adjust and maintain orthodontic appliances as instructed by the orthodontist, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage appointment reminders, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Handle patient inquiries, provide information, and address concerns with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Maintain organized patient records using our practice management software, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting or orthodontic assisting program preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a dental assistant, with a focus on orthodontics.
  • Proficient knowledge of orthodontic instruments, equipment, and procedures.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with dental software and technology, with a strong understanding of data management and record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and a passion for patient care, with a commitment to delivering exceptional service and support.
