Dietary Aide

We are seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to provide exceptional nutrition support to our residents at Crown Point Retirement Center. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required
• Serve meals in the health center pantries
• Set up tables in the health center dining room(s) and break them down after meals
• Transport hot and cold foods to and from the health center pantries
• Transport non-food items to and from the health center pantries
• Wash silver, glass, china in dish machines in pantries as per regulation
• Provide health center snacks and supplements per diet orders
• Maintain stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
• Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order
• Take orders, provide service, and requested items both graciously and courteously
• Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service
• Answer pertinent questions about menu items
• Ensure that orders match Physician's diet orders

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
• Ability to plan, organize, and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly
