About the Role

The Maintenance Technician is a critical position at Balfour Beatty Investments & Communities, responsible for ensuring the overall physical condition of our communities and providing exceptional service to our residents. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strong customer service skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair maintenance issues in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections and repairs of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Supervise and train less senior technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors to ensure seamless execution of maintenance projects
  • Ensure compliance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Deliver exceptional resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, and professional interactions
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience, with no certifications or 4 years' experience with EPA 608 Universal required
  • Approved designations or degree/license/certification(s) in at least one of the following: HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Appliance Repair Certification, or Carpentry
  • Demonstrated strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively with residents, colleagues, and external partners
  • Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry
  • Ability to diagnose problems and implement repairs, as well as perform quality control on work and repairs completed
  • Valid, state-issued driver's license with a safe driving record
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent interaction with residents, maintenance staff, and external partners, as well as working in and outside residential properties. The employee will be required to regularly lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50-75 lbs.
